1. Put the grounding strap around your wrist and attach it to the ground loop on the back of the computer case. If the does not have a ground loop, attach the grounding strap to any solid metal part of the chassis.

2. Replace the case lid on the computer making sure not to touch any of the electronic components.

3. Attach the lid with the mounting screws removed in Step 2.

4. Reconnect all cables and power cords; refer to the markings you made earlier if necessary.

NOTE: Now is a good time to perform the knuckle tap test again. With your knuckles or fingertips, tap gently on the top and sides of your computer case. If the sound is a dull thud, the Dynamat has successfully created a sonic barrier against computer noise.

5. Start your computer according to the manufacturer's instruction.

NOTE: When installing Dynamat, allow for adequate clearance of mounting or fastening tabs. DO NOT APPLY Dynamat to any area that may block cooling ventilation holes or in any other way interfere with the normal operation of your computer. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to your computer for which Dynamic Control of North America, Inc. is not liable.

If you are using the Dynamat Xtreme Computer Wedge Pak #40425 or Computer Bulk Pak #40455, follow the instructions below. If you are using a Dynamat Xtreme Computer Kit use Step 4 - A above.

1. Empty the contents of the Dynamat package in an open area.

2. Measure the computer case lid. Take care to allow for ventilation holes and general airflow in the case.

3. Take the measurements and cut the Dynamat with scissors or a razor knife to the dimensions.   If you have extra dynamat or smaller strips, place them on other sections of the case lid.   One of the benefits of Dynamat is that there is no waste.

4. Using scissors or a razor knife, cut the Dynamat according to the dimensions measured above.   If you have extra Dynamat or smaller strips, use them for other sections of the case lid.

5. Remove the release liner and position the cut sheets in the proper locations in the inside of the case cover. Remove the release liner only of the piece that you are currently working with, since Dynamat Xtreme has a strong bonding adhesive that makes it difficult to remove once placed.

STEP 4A : Apply Dynamat (Single Kit)

1. Empty the contents of the Dynamat package in an open area.

2. Separate the six sheets with a razor knife or scissors.

3. Remove the release liner on one sheet of Dynamat and install the sheet on the underside of the top of the case lid. (Remove the release liner only of the piece you are currently working with; Dynamat Xtreme has a very strong bonding adhesive and is difficult to remove once applied.)

4. Remove the release liner on another sheet of Dynamat and apply the sheet on the bottom of the computer chassis. DO not allow Dynamat's aluminum top layer to come into contact with any electrical components. Aluminum conducts electricity and will damage your computer. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to your computer for which Dynamic Control of North America, Inc. is not liable. Note: If the inside of your computer case includes diagrams, we recommend you do not cover them.

5. Remove the release liner on another sheet of Dynamat and apply the sheet on the inside side panel of the computer case. Repeat for the other side panel. For complete coverage, you may need to purchase additional kits.

If you are using the Dynamat Xtreme Computer Kit #40401, follow the instructions below. If you are using a Dynamat Xtreme Computer Wedge Pak or Bulk Pak go to Step 4B.

NOTE: If you have never opened your case before, don't be shocked at the amount of dust inside. Cooling the computer requires that air be circulated through the case. As a result, your computer collects dust. Large amounts of dust can add to noise problems because the dust can interfere with cooling fan operation. Use the can of compressed air to spray dust off components and out of the case.

1. Using a damp rag, dust the inside and outside of the case lid.

2. Clean the inside of the case with an alcohol-based cleaning solution.DO NOT USE A MINERAL SPIRITS OR OIL-BASED CLEANER! These cleaners make the surface unsuitable for Dynamat's pressure-sensitive adhesive. Improper adhesion of Dynamat due to incorrectly prepared surfaces is not covered under warranty.

3. After cleaning, let the case lid dry completely before applying Dynamat.

4. Remove the screws that hold the case in place. Typically three to five screws are located in the back of the computer. Store the screws in a safe place.

5. Remove the case lid, making sure not to touch any electronic components.

1. Shut down your computer according to the manufacturer's instructions.

2. Disconnect all power cords and other cables connected to the computer's chassis. Pay attention to where the cords and cables connect. If necessary, mark them for easy reconnection.

NOTE: Now is a good time to perform the knuckle tap test. This test is a simple but effective way to test your computer for noise. With your knuckles or fingertips, tap gently on the top and sides of your computer case. If it rattles or sounds tinny, your computer case needs Dynamat.

3. Put the grounding strap around your wrist and attach it to the ground loop on the back of the computer case. If the chassis or case does not have a ground loop, attach the grounding strap to any solid metal part of the chassis.
