Step 4a (optional)
For superior sound damping and noise reduction, apply Dynamat to the outer door skin. Cut Dynamat pieces to fit outer door skin and apply with a Dynamat roller tool.
Note: The Dynamat Door kit contains coverage for 1 door with outer & inner skin OR two doors with inner skin only.
Step 9
Reinstall the door panel. Refer to a shop manual of your vehicle for detailed information on how to reassemble your door panel.
Step 8
Dynamat installation is complete. Make sure the Dynamat does not interfere with the normal operation of the door. Test door functionality and fix any problems that might occur before reinstalling the door panel.
Step 7
Take a roller tool and work the Dynamat into all contours of the metal panel. Start at one side of the material and work your way across. Make small X incisions in the Dynamat to allow access for door rods and mounting tabs. Cover the entire panel including the openings.
TIP: Only cut out the necessary areas. Minimizing the amount of openings will maximize the amount of noise blocked.
Step 6
Position the second 12” x 36” piece on the top of the door. Cut off any excess with the Dynamat Switch-A-Blade razor knife or scissors. Mark and make the cuts for the door handle and items that require access through the Dynamat.
To ensure lasting adhesion and maximum damping effect, remove air pockets formed under the Dynamat by poking them with a razor knife and removing the air with a roller tool.
Step 5
Apply the Dynamat to the mounting surface with a Dynamat roller tool. Take the roller tool and work the Dynamat into all contours of the metal panel. Start at one side of the material and work your way across. This will maximize contouring and promote the best adhesion and performance.
WARNING: Make sure your installation of Dynamat does not interfere with the normal operation of the door.
Step 4
Position one of the 12” x 36” pieces on the bottom of the door. Cut off any excess with the Dynamat Switch-A-Blade razor knife or scissors. Also, make cuts to allow any wire or harnesses to be pulled through the Dynamat.
Step 3
Thoroughly clean the mounting surface with a quick-drying, residue-free solvent. Remove all dirt, grease, oil, wax, moisture and rust to ensure a permanent bond between the Dynamat and the mounting surface.
Step 2
Remove your speaker. Refer to your shop manual for removal instructions. At this time also remove the plastic moisture barrier on the door panel. The moisture barrier will not be reused and can be discarded.
TIP: Use the moisture barrier as a template for cut out holes for the door handle and wires.
